Pick-up service policies (hours of availability, allowable pick-up distance, etc.) vary by location so it's important that you call the location and make arrangements for pick-up at least 24 hours before your desired rental time. When you call the location, be ready to provide all applicable information including precise address, exact time of pick up, and a phone number where you can be reached at that time.
Please note that an off-airport Avis location cannot pick you up at an airport that has a Avis location. In this case, either you must rent your car at the airport location, or provide your own transportation to the off-airport location where you prefer to rent
NOTE: Some locations may have a key drop available:
Drop Box Available: If the customer chooses to leave the vehicle, the customer is responsible for the vehicle & all charges (including any damages or theft of the vehicle may have incurred during after hours) until the contract can be closed on the following business day.
Drop Box NOT Available: If the location does not have a key drop box, the location does not permit vehicles to be left after closing hours. The customer should never lock or leave the keys inside the car. The customer is responsible for the vehicle & all charges (including any damages to or theft of the vehicle and locksmith fees if they choose to lock the keys in the car). The customer can either choose to return the car the next day the location is open OR change the Drop Off Location to the nearest Regional Airport. Customer is responsible for all charges related to the drop-off modification.

Renter Requirements
Additional Liability Insurance (ALI)
Additional Liability (ALI) - Mandatory
Public liability and property damage coverage is not included in rates. Customers are required to purchase ALI with every rental.
Provides protection for third party liability in case of bodily injury and/or property damage to a third party (excluding the renter and/or driver of the Avis vehicle), up to a maximum of approximately 10,000.00 USD per occurrence with a deductible of 700.00 USD. The cost of ALI insurance is included in the approximate total.
Customer may be fully waived of this deductible with the purchase of LDW.
Cash
Cash rentals are not allowed.
All renters must have an Avis-honored charge card or debit card to rent a vehicle.

Drivers License
An International Driving Permit (IDP) serves only as a translation of a driver's existing license, and by itself is not acceptable for vehicle rental. When required, an IDP must be used in conjunction with the driver's valid, current license as issued by the country of residence.

Public Liability and Property Damage
Public liability and property damage coverage is not included in rates.

Age Requirements
At this location the minimum age is 23, renters 23-24 years will be charged an underage fee of 35.00 USD per day.
Renters 71 or over will be charged an additional rental fee of rental fee of 35.00 USD per day.

Cars can be returned to other Avis locations within Nicaragua based on car availability. Fees vary according to distance between locations and depending on car group rented. One way fees may also apply to any special equipment rented. Vehicles are not permitted to go one-way outside of Nicaragua.
