Optional Coverages
Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) is Optional
Depending on car group rented, customer is liable for an amount ranging between 121,000.00 BTP and 445.000.00 BTP if Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) is not taken. Purchase of CDW reduces liability to an amount between 13,000.00 BTP and 45,000.00 BTP depending on car group rented in the event of an accident, damage, or theft to the Avis vehicle.
Theft Protection (TP) is included in the CDW
Note: There is no coverage in the case of damage or theft to the Avis vehicle due to civil unrest. Breach of any conditions on rental agreement will render coverage null and void. Negligence, driving on unsuitable road conditions or being involved in an accident where no other vehicle is involved renders renter liable for all damages.
Note: In the event of an accident a claim administration fee will be charged over and above the damage repair costs or applicable excess as follows:
Repairs up to BTP 300.00: BTP 290.00, Repairs grater than BTP 300.00: BTP 520.00
If you require additional insurance coverage you may purchase locally to reduce/remove the insurance excess. Just ask at the Avis rental desk when you collect your car.

Drivers License
At the time of rentals, the driver must present a valid drivers license in the drivers name from their country of residence. Customers presenting a drivers license in a non-Roman alphabet must also present an International Driving Permit (IDP) to serve as a translation in addition to their valid drivers license..
Public Liability and Property Damage
Public liability insurance is in accordance with the insurance laws of the country. Customer may inquire at the time of rental for additional information of the benefits, conditions and acceptance.
Note: Some credit cards provide insurance coverage, with certain limitations, as a benefit of using the card to rent vehicles. The customer is advised to contact the card issuer before the rental. Any waiver must be discussed directly with the location upon arrival.

Age Requirements
At this location the minimum age is 23 for renters with an Avis honored charge card. Renters with a Diners or American Express card may rent at 21. Young Driver Surcharge: BTP 55.00 per day.
Renters must have with a valid unendorsed drivers license that has been held for a minimum of one year. It is a Botswana legal requirement to have the drivers license in possession at all times.
