The customer should never lock or leave the keys inside the car. The customer is responsible for the vehicle & all charges (including any damages to or theft of the vehicle and locksmith fees if they choose to lock the keys in the car). The customer can either choose to return the car the next day the location is open OR change the Drop Off Location to the nearest Regional Airport. Customer is responsible for all charges related to the drop-off modification.

Collision Damage Waiver (CDW/LDW) is Optional
Customer is liable for full value of the Avis vehicle if Collision Damage Waiver (CDW/LDW) is not taken. Purchase of CDW/LDW reduces liability to an amount between 3,000.00 BRL and 4,000.00 BRL depending on car group rented in the event of damage caused by robbery, theft, collision and/or accident, fire, or total vehicle lost to the Avis vehicle.
Theft Protection (TP) is included in the CDW
Note: Police report is mandatory for coverage of any loss and/or damage within a maximum of 24 hours. Upon occurrence of accident/damage renter is also required to complete the "Avis Accident Report" form.
Coverages does not include damage to tires, wheels, keys or documents or damage or loss due to natural diaster.
If you require additional insurance coverage you may purchase locally to reduce/remove the insurance excess. Just ask at the Avis rental desk when you collect your car.

Foreign renters (except residents of Argentina, Paraguay & Uruguay) must also present their passport with an entry stamp of less than 180 days from the rental date. International driving license is required only for countries with non-Roman alphabet. International driving license is a translation only.

Public liability insurance is in accordance with the insurance laws of the country. Customer may inquire at the time of rental for additional information of the benefits, conditions and acceptance.
